Immediate opening for an Account Manager supporting an East Coast territory who possesses: 
  • B.S. or M.S. in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Programming, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of sales experience calling on pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic accounts with an emphasis on laboratory automation
  • Ability to regularly travel by car or plane for customer site visits and national trade shows

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Account Manager to lead business development efforts within a designated East Coast territory. This remote role will focus on laboratory automation solutions for pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic clients while cultivating key customer relationships, expanding high-value accounts, and driving sales of advanced automation software, robotics, and workflow solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences or engineering, proven success in large-scale solution sales, and the ability to build strategy, generate pipeline, and close complex multi-stakeholder deals.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Developing and executing a market-focused business plan for an assigned territory or region
  • Leading business development efforts and establishing key accounts within pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic markets
  • Enhancing existing business partnerships and creating new customer relationships
  • Building rapport with customers to establish a true partnership and long-term account growth
  • Identifying and maintaining regular contact with high-level account stakeholders, lab leaders, procurement teams, and decision-makers
  • Utilizing market intelligence, field data, and customer insights to influence buyer decision-making
  • Leveraging customer relationships to identify opportunities for expansion and growth across current locations, satellite locations, and broader customer networks
  • Working with technical and applications teams to understand customer workflow needs and develop effective automation solutions
  • Coordinating on-site product presentations, demonstrations, and customer meetings with local support teams
  • Collaborating with marketing to support lead generation, pipeline growth, and territory development
  • Working cross-functionally with internal teams to develop creative solutions that address customer needs and increase business growth
  • Maintaining awareness of all products and service offerings
  • Supporting brand growth, customer strategy, and overall sales process improvement as applicable
  • Managing a sales funnel, developing territory strategy, generating leads, and closing high-value opportunities
  • Navigating complex, multi-stakeholder deals and large-scale projects

The selected candidate will also possess:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Programming, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic accounts with an emphasis on automation
  • Laboratory automation proficiency required
  • Experience selling software, robotics, automation platforms, or complex technical solutions strongly preferred
  • Experience with large-scale solution sales and high-value opportunities
  • Ability to perform live software demonstrations
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of closing significant sales opportunities
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, or similar platforms
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find win-win solutions
  • Ability to work independently, set goals, and achieve them
  • Excellent organization, time management, accountability, and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to work in a remote, team-selling environment with consistent pipeline calls, regular team calls, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM East Coast hours
  • Ability to travel approximately one week per month, including customer site visits and national trade shows
  • East Coast location required; Massachusetts area preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly work at a computer workstation and access information from a computer
  • Ability to regularly listen and speak in person, by telephone, and through video meetings
  • Ability to occasionally spend time walking around customer sites, laboratory environments, and facilities
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move equipment of varying weight
  • Ability to travel by car or plane for customer site visits, product demonstrations, and national trade shows

Salary Range: $150,000/year base; up to $300,000 OTE
